How to get the right kind of visitors to your site
Andy:
I had a light bulb moment while reading an eBook recently.
What I normally do is optimise my web pages around the most popular search terms for my topic or I just don't care to research the terms but use words that I think most people would type into a search engine.
This strategy works to generate visitor traffic but they are not necessarily the kinds of visitor you really want.
The light bulb moment was that you need to use keywords that address a desperate need such as "how can I get a girlfriend", "how can I get rid of my back pain", "why are my teeth yellow?" etc.
So you research what search terms are popular along these lines, then you build a mini-site, optimised with pages for these search terms. Then you promote a product that promises to quickly solve the problem that your visitors have.
So you don't really care about the absolute quantity of visitor traffic but rather you want people that are most likely to be wanting the solution that you are offering.
For the content of your web pages, you can give them a free method to solve their problem, but it is likely to be tricky, risky and time consuming such as how to lose weight by training for a marathon or how to approach women in a mall and ask for a date. Then, the affiliate product you offer is say a weight loss pill or access to an exclusive dating site i.e. quick and easy solution.
Today, I went to the Google search term suggestion tool and tapped in my keyword and got a list of over 100 actual search terms that people use. Then I exported the list and imported it to a spread sheet. Then I sorted the list by frequency of searches.
Then I plucked out 18 search phrases that I think desperate buyers would use. Then I created 18 web pages optimised for these phrases to add to one of my web sites (I still need to write the content for each page though). These pages will be like a funnel leading visitors to an affiliate product that easily solves their problem or they take the advice I will give on the page for free and run with that.
I am certain this strategy is good since I know that I can get traffic this way and the guy who wrote the eBook I was reading makes a few $1000 a year from each mini-site he builds.
I think I will write a free PDF report detailing how I do the keyword research and construct these pages to offer to you guys later.
What do you think about this method of getting the right kind of visitor to your site?

I also used to have same kind of strategy and my traffic acquisition depends on the content marketing. i used to search long key phrase relevant to any business or products and try to get the rank of pages to the content with similar keywords instead of targeting main two to three keywords which are most competitive.

* SEO is organic and inexpensive as compared to pay-per-click advertising.
It’s the simply the best investment. Sure, with pay-per-click advertising you may be under sponsored ads on a search engine, but pay-per-click is hugely expensive ($1.24 per click, sometimes amounting to $ 500,000 per month), and some clicks may just be out of curiosity. Clicks don’t guarantee sales, and you have no choice but to shell out some cash for those random ‘curiosity’ clicks (which could also be frauds from competitors).
* SEO is more cost-efficient than other marketing campaigns.
It’s the easiest and most helpful way to direct traffic and interest to your website. Your targeted and interested customers can instantly purchase the products that they want from your website, and you don’t even have to bombard them with advertisements that cost a lot of money to make. Besides how can you impress your customers if they can’t even find you?
* SEO makes you the cream of the crop.
Search engines rely on company reputation to boost their rankings as well—so if you’re on page one, it is automatically acknowledged that your company is known for professionalism, reliability and quality products or service.
* You instantly reach your target audience with related keywords.
We input keywords and other key strategies highly related to your brand to your site, so that when people type in these related keywords on their search engine you’ll be number one. For example, if you own an online store for fast and still-warm tuna sandwich deliveries, SEO ensures that when a person types “tuna sandwich”, “warm tuna sandwich” or “tuna sandwich delivery” on their search engine your website comes out on top!
* We Use Web Analytics so that you can track visitors and push them towards your offer.
Just like a physical store, it’s important for any business to know what kind of shoppers they attract. It doesn’t matter if you attract a thousand clicks a day on your site—if they don’t end up buying or registering on your site anyway. You need to be able to get visitors who will actually move towards your main offer! With Google Analytics you get to determine what kind of visitors you get, how long they stay in your site, and what pages they look at. You get to learn more about your customers and their habits and know how to improve your website’s usability and customer-friendliness as well.
