I have it sitting there, dated 4/23/99, and am tempted to open it. I have had lots of bug notices over the years and they all have been bologna. Is this another hoax?

Thanks.

Hi LtlPhysics, welcome to our forum, sorry I didn't reply immidiately I just wasn't online before. And here is your answer it's not a virus but a standard windows component "Microsoft® Debugger Registrar for Java". It some kind of stupid joke, more information about this "virus" could be find here here. Also if you already delete this file please follow this link http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q322993 there you will find more info...
And concerning bugs I didn't see any windows without bugs it's normal for Microsoft  Grin the best wersion of thindows IMHO Win 2000.
Hope this is help... If you have more questions ask them and we be glad to help you. Cheesy

Thanks, Phoenix. I didn't delete my file, but judging by the chunk of spam that was attached to the warning, many others may have. I let her know.

Sylvester is the only decent cartoon in the hamper so I chose the dog, but only because I don't have one.

As it turns out, the husband of my old flame mailed out the hoax too, so just to be sure he left no stone unturned, he mailed everyone, I mean everyone.
He even mailed me, a first!

Now that was a big chunk of spam. I sent him the restoration link Phoenix provided, so...he gets to mail everyone again.
