Hi Don,

I was just fooling around. I hope things are going better for you today.

My new forum is doing OK now and I even got a request to sell it, but I think I scared them away with my price suggestion. Well I've never sold a site before and not sure if I ever would do unless that was part of a plan to build a site to flip.

In any case, this is not my forum, it's Sensovision's (Denis) just in case some new visitors are confused.

Thanks things are going better for me today. Yes this site does belong to Sensovision (Denis) and it is sad he has been away for so long but his life is just taking off and that is always a time when it is very hard to find the time for things like forums unless it pertains to the family's income which this site does not for Denis.

Glad to here things are going well with your site.

I have been trying to get myself back into working on websites again so I would have something more to post here and maybe breathe some life into this one but alas it's not going so well in that area I am just too busy in other ways as I am sure you are also.

I'm busy but I'm busy building my own sites.

If you set up a blog, it is quite quick and easy to post to it. You can even do this via a mobile phone.

It could be a good idea to combine a blog with whatever activity you do offline since it could be a way to advertise a club/charity/church etc. Also, members could contribute to the blog via the comments when they are at home. If you go with blogger.com you can set up a blog in say 10 minutes. And get access to nice templates.

I see them as sites run by one person that tend to be regularly updated so people that are interested tend to bookmark the site, track the updates via subscribing to the RSS and can get involved in discussions. A bit like a forum but where the blogger starts all the threads.

Also, there is a support network to gain traffic in terms of pinging of posts, blog search, rss feeds, comment interlinking, social bookmarking widgets etc.

I guess the problem for me is I just don't write that much stuff so I wouldn't get many comments and the blog dies as mine did.

Yes, you have to have a passion for writing on your topic. Most blogs fizzle out after about 1 year.

Similar to forums, there are far more lurkers than contributors. So it is hard to start the ball rolling to gain regular comments that aren't spam.

It's easier for me to write a lot since it's my hobby/work to do so. Every sentence posted to the web helps build my footprint on the web to get links and traffic etc. to sites.

I keep coming back to Webmaster Key because I have been a member so long and it has been a great place to visit but it is kind of looking like we are the only 2 still here. It is sad and I wish I could find away to build it up again but I just don't have what it takes. Kind of like the blog I made it needs constant inputs and I am not that constant.

...I think my math is off a bit...



I haven't had regular internet access for several weeks now; I have just been parking behind a motel and using their Wifi on my laptop on occasion.

About the only things I have been checking is email and my Facebook page.

I do have internet access for the time being for now.
