Rather than suggesting that business people pay for Advertising on your site, demand it!

I was fool enough to suggest it before and got very few takers, but since insisting on it I have got a couple of sales in short order.

The thing is that business advertisers will stand to gain substantial profits from sales conversions via leads from an Ad on your site so it should be no problem to ask for a nominal fee to host their Ad on your site in the spirit of business synergy.

Of course, if you have substantial traffic, then you can track the conversions and charge fees according to estimated sales revenue that your site produces for it's customers.

If you use a host that is very low cost then you can make the fees you charge very low and still make a profit to ensure that your advertising rates are low enough to entice paying customers and the revenues are enough to at least cover the hosting costs of your site so it can be left on auto-pilot income generating mode for years on end.

Interesting!    Heard exactly the same thing from a real estate guru on his webinair.   Except he was talking about foreclosure houses.    Buy low, sell low, and flip it immediately.    Gee, sounds good, right?  I wish I would put all these great ideas to work for me.

Hi Bev,

you could identify opportunities in your local area to advertise things online. Maybe you could focus on just one thing such as a plot of land for sale, create an example site for them showing photos of the area and text about the place and show the client an example web page on your laptop or on a private page on your website. Then tell them that you can put this on the web in 30 minutes for $100 or whatever. Then rinse and repeat.

Maybe the easiest way to go ahead and publish the website would be to register a keyword.blogspot.com and cut and paste your example web page to that and hey presto you got them on Google for just $100   They probably spent this kind of money for the sign board outside of the property.

This doesn't exactly work for me. I try to buy low, improve, hold, enjoy, sell, rent, wait, repeat   Maybe over a 10 year cycle? I recently started the 2nd cycle (currently in the 'hold,enjoy' part).
