My local buddies were pushing me to swap my regular mobile phone for an iPhone.

Since the pay plan worked out cheaper, it was a no-brainer to switch. This is the first time to be an owner of an Apple product so now I need to get used to cool user interfaces and iTunes etc.  Grin

Interestingly I have been tempted recently to buy some gadgets such as a dictaphone and MP3 player which this one actually includes. So it is something I will enjoy using.

Today I did a quick test of Google maps and it shows a beacon of where I am and the route map of where I want to go which moves as you rotate etc. Also you can switch to the satellite view as you can on the web. And you can zoom in and out with finger moves on the screen.

Also I downloaded Skype to it so I can make free calls to other Skype users.

The phone connects to a wireless network as a priority and then looks for 3G if the wireless network is unavailable. So at home I have a wireless router going and it connects ok.

I can get the weather report, make notes, take photos, look at web sites, watch videos and play music. So it should be fun to get used to how to use this phone.
