Hello,

I have had experience with shared hosting, VPSs, and dedicated servers.  The beauty of a VPS is to provide the customer with dedicated server functionality while continuing to be on a shared environment.  VPSs will give you the flexibility to run background processes and have root access over your virtual server.  This will give you full control over the VPS's operation.  However just like a shared environment, the VPS is virtual meaning there is more than 1 VPS on a single server.  This means that just like any shared hosting plan, the VPS is only as good as the provider who offers it. You want to make sure that the VPS provider does not overload a single server with to many virtual servers.  If you are running a site that is growing out of shared hosting but not quite ready for a dedicated solution, then a VPS might be the right fit for you.  Getting a VPS will definitely give you a good idea of what a dedicated server is like if you decide to upgrade to that point.  One of the nice things about VPSs is that there are many providers that offer managed support for them which is great for someone just stepping into the feel of a dedicated solution.

I started using VPS with HostGator since I regularly get warnings about using too many server resources. Not much more expensive than reseller (ok 2x the price), but it seems very fast. To install a new hosting account is amazingly fast compared to shared hosting.

The last post seems like it's auto-generated since the full-stops are misplaced. Humans are unlikely to make this error IMHO.

it is recommended to use shared hosting when you start with online business. When your website will have more traffic, you should move to vps

I think you should stick to share hosting if you have a website or two. VPS hosting for those who want to set up huge databases.
