I have created a new kind of Sudoku game using Flash (Flex to be precise) and was thinking about features to add to the site that will host the game.

I am thinking to have a membership system so I can let users interact with the site and keep the spam and hacking of scores to a minimum.

So if people sign up as a member via a verification link in their email, they can record their scores and compete with other members.

Also, I like the idea of a shout box so people can say what they just scored and offer feedback easily.

For the shout box, I may attempt to code it myself rather than using an existing script. So features I have in mind are:

smilies are automatically inserted when the emoticon code is entered in a message. Users can suggest a message is spam. Users could have a rating.

As regards getting the text of the messages in search engines, I wonder if Javascript is now recognised?

So the home page would have the game, shout box and stats.

Any ideas you have appreciated ...

So far it sounds great. I don't have any recommendations at the moment, but I was wondering if you've considered opening a developer account with Mochiads? Others will be displaying your game on their site, so if you're trying to keep the game play exclusive to your website, this may not be a good option... just a thought.

Thanks for the tips. Since this is my first effort using Flash (Flex), it is not very exciting yet compared to other flash games but I have a partner that may be adding effects and sounds to the game. Also, it will evolve over time.

One reason to host it initially on my own domain is to get the branding established since it is a new way to play the game and even if people copy the idea, the name will likely stick I think. Now it is online at Dynamic Sudoku dot com. I think that this is the perfect name for the game.

The idea is to get the highest score you can by filling up the grid, even if you have invalid numbers in some places, which you probably will!

Like with most games, there are many possibilities for extra features such as time limits, noises, animations, background music, storage of high scores, league tables etc.

That's really neat! Adding sound and image effects would really make this a perfect game. I also think that the name Dynamic Sudoku is perfect. It's memorable and entirely appropriate.

Most of the work is under the Creative Commons License, and it's free to use for non-commercial purposes.

You probably want to keep file size to a minimum, but if you wanted to create a "showy" version of Dynamic Sudoku, something like this may also be effective. You can also give the option of turning off sound effects and music for users that don't want to hear them.

Don't know what she was connecting to. After trying to connect for about 2 minutes, she said she wants Flash Player 10 or she won't get into bad    Pretty bad of her, I guess.
