Hi,

We're thinking of changing our current hosting provider (tbdata.com) and wondered if anyone could recommend a decent service (with good customer support too)

Can't afford a dedicated server at the moment so it would have to be shared. The site is build in classic ASP and we need MS SQL database

Our blog runs on PHP so the hosting solution must be able to support both.

The host should be able to support a growing e-commerce site and email newsletters.

The domain is a dot com but we target google.co.uk so for SEO purposes we understand that it would be better to have a UK host.

I think Heart Internet are the best low cost solution in the UK. I use them myself and used to have a reseller account with them. They have a long history so are unlikely to go out of business either.

I also use Supanames which worked great for my sites that required no technical support for years.

I assume that you can do your search outside UK.
For example in the US you can find more alternatives

From the sounds of it, most of the products you have mentioned are all Windows services.  So I take it you are looking for a Windows host right?

Have you tried achieving a dreamhost or a hostgator plan? I have used them in the past and everything was fine! 24/7 support and 99 % uptime.
