I download the top 40 of the UK.

Here is what I think is good so far:

Pink - So What : really catchy rock song

Kings of Leon - a barbeque on Fire : Great guitar, beat and lyrics - awesome

Razorlight - Wire to wire : Moody, ballad - awesome

The Saturdays - Up : great female vocal, funky

Katy Perry - Hot N Cold : lively pop

Hmm it seems like they are all good in various ways, I just don't like the club style tunes so much that have the synthetic beats. Share your favs ...

Pink is good. I'm not sure what else is in the charts though.

Oh i did like Katy Perry "I kissed a girl". I think it's still in the top 40 singles charts.

Truth be told i do not really pay that much attention to the top 40 chart anymore. Does anyone remember top of the pops? at least when that was on i had a better idea what was in the charts.

If i had to pick something out of the current top 40 i would probably go for kings of leon they are a good band.

Top of the pops was good years ago, but i think the demise of the bands about ten years ago and the music made in peoples bedrooms sort of killed it off. I must say that music is starting to get much better again though and we are starting to see some good bands forming again.
