I plan to make a digital photo site in the near future so I wanted to give you some idea of the kind of thing you can expect to find on my site.

For example, you take a random photo like this:



To take a random photo like this, carry your camera with you every time you go out! Then look for photo opportunities and track the main object in the photo and hold the camera as steady as you can. Then consider shielding it from rain and excessive sunshine. Take several shots of the subject so you can later choose which one to work with.

In this photo, I used the view finder rather than the flip-out video screen since it was raining and the ships were moving. I ran down a bank to immediately take the shots before the action was over.

After this, I considered the shot and cropped to the most interesting subject matter:




Here, I think I captured the essence of big, powerful ships about to set sail and the small but nimble fishing vessel hurrying past them to get out of the way. Later I could play around with the color balance and stuff to make the image look more interesting still. This is what makes photography interesting for me. The resolution is low in these pics.
