I am in search for some new website hosting companies that have great templates to allow me to modify my background colors and text. I want to revamp my site to make it more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Any recommendations?

Cheers,

Chris

Why not make your site yourself instead of using an HTML editor and a CSS editor instead of templates? Then you would have more hosting services to choose from.

Huh?? Huh

I can't believe I did that. I should have said Why not make your site yourself using an HTML editor and a CSS editor instead of templates? Thanks Mernard for pointing it out.

Don is right. You could also look into hiring someone to create the design for you. Having your own unique design is a much better solution.

If I were in your shoes, I would look at A2hosting.com, lunarpages.com and Hostgator.com. I definitely know that truth comes out of a comparison. You may, compare them and choose the best one which will suit all your specific needs.

I'm using Lunarpages for several months and not really happy with them, they have hidden fee for SSH access, you have to pay 2 dollars per month. From other side it's ok as making hosting more secure, as people who don't really need it would likely not enable it...
But there are some sort of problems with DDOS attacks they have short downtimes sometimes on daily basis, just couple of minutes or less, but it's still a bit irritating.

Interesting, they are often portrayed as the top host.

Indeed, I also was surprised by this... But as I said these downtime are very short and usually not even registered by uptime monitoring services(at least free ones which checking site every 15 minutes).
After corresponding with support it's appeared that DDOS attacks have place and this is the source of these downtime periods.
I've tried two different servers on Lunarpages and both had same problem... So right now I'm checking alternative hosting solutions.
BTW I never liked to go with mainstream and sometimes it proved to be good way, small companies sometimes offer better services than big ones...

I absolutely agree with you. The reason is that if you deal with big company, you may be lost in the number of clients and wait for support long hours in order to help you.

It seems like the hosting industry is a bit of a mine field. Getting lost in the noise can be a benefit if you host many money-making sites on shared servers  Wink But, for sure some small hosting companies must work hard to please customers. Also, they can give you an IP address outside the blocks used by popular hosts.

It's unfortunate that some criminal organizations attack the top hosts.

You are right Andy and to make right choice you need to try lots of offerings and understand which is more comfortable for you and which is not
