Yes, it has been an interesting site; pretty much left itself open for all kinds of jabs about its design, use of frames, or even if it has a purpose.

Even though the domain name of zhorkow was appealing to me at first, I have had to wonder for some time just what the heck I was thinking.

The CargoShip is not going away. Though I have considered folding it into the new site whenever it is up and running. What I am going to do with the CargoShip is drastic; it is going to be moved to a new domain.

My objective is to simply have something easier to remember and spell.

I presently have a domain that is in the process of transferring between registrars. We'll see how that goes as (due to my oversite) there are 5 days left on the domain and it can take up to 6 days to transfer Lips Sealed. The one good thing about it is that the original registrar is a Tucows reseller and Tucows is pretty responsive (last transfer from them took 2 or 3 days to complete).

Anybody want to chime in with something like 'are you effing crazy'?

I'll keep the zhorkow domain and redirect it; while I'll drop the two misspelled domain names.

Well, this domain transfer took even less time than the previous one; barely one day.

The domain is starhatch.com

Unless I miraculously find one that will fit the CargoShip better, I'll be going with that one for the new domain.

Won't you be losing inbound links by switching domains? I apologize, SEO has always been my weakness.
However, when I switched domains from retro-teknix.com to tamurilart.com-- even with the domain forwarding in place-- I lost nearly 50,000 hits a month. Even when I asked webmasters to change the urls, most of my requests were ignored.

I do like your new domain name.

Rachel, you should have read this http://www.webconfs.com/how-to-redirect-a-webpage.php for a trouble free domain change. Simple domain forwarding does not do much good.

I think seo is a weakness for all of us as it changes so dramatically at times.

I'm probably only getting a few hundred hits a month, so there's not much to lose (Alexa has it in the 4-5 million range of rankings).

I am going to 301 zhorkow.com to starhatch.com, and keep the old domain name going as well but it will always be redirected. I've heard different things on whether or not the old domain PR would transfer to a new domain with a permanent redirect, and I don't know for sure.

I do like the name, zhorkow, but it is too difficult to spell and the letters are too hard to be appealing (appealing letters, in English anyway *real English; not that British version Cheesy*, are rounded and flow like in Google, not hard edges and abrupt ends like in zhorkow).

To keep zhorkow associated with the site, I am going to title it Zhorkow's CargoShip at Starhatch.com.

No, I haven't fixed the menu (tabs? Roll Eyes) yet; I going to do that when I transfer the files to the new directory.

Told ya it was drastic.

I have been lazy. I had the CargoShip on its own hosting and have since dropped that hosting as it was an unnecessary expense; unfortunately, this happened when my internet went down for two weeks, and I just haven't gotten things back up yet.

I'm planning to upload the site to the StarHatch domain and redirect the zhorkow domain.

I had considered rebuilding the site, but I have too much going on right now to do that; so I'll pretty much leave it as it is except for correcting some links on the site to reflect the new domain.

If it has traffic it should be redirected. At least you will never lose people there.
