This has to be the most spammed forum on the whole site.

How do you guys feel about host that just go around spamming forums though? I personaly refuse to buy anything from someone who spams, just doesn't build customer security. I believe if your service is bad enough where you have to spam places such as this, then it is likely not worth paying for because it will not be around for much longer anyway.

hmm there is really some spammy posts around but I believe that we can show what other people offers... since some of deals could be good...
Greg maybe you have an idea how to reorginize hosting borad? or you think we should just forbid to post deals about paid hosting if so what would be the purpose of this board?

Maybe you could prohibit non-registered viewers from posting in Hosting, while registered users must have at least 10 posts before submitting their hosting services? Could you do something like that?

we've see when the new restricitin mod will be ready... if you have time follow the link and check out post on YaBB, you'll see what apparently will be in the mod...
Anyway we need some mod with a plenty of time here, since Ed is very busy lately and can't appear so much online as previously. and probably we'll need new rules if we want to lower hosting submission...(BTW the strangies thing that no companies were submitted to directory... only here Grin )

i think this should be made to discuss hosting issues...so possibly rename the board. then down in the same category as the spam one maybe just create a new forum for hosting offers, and just move everything over there since there is so much.

just an idea of couse, i think it would clean things up a bit and allow for conversations in this forum.

Good idea... we have something like this for domin so why don't make same thing for hosting... this way we'll make people find things they are looking for more easily. But we'll need a Mod... someone who knows something in hosting possibly admin of hosting company but someone who will not selfpromote himself but rather can give comments about hosting and confirm good offers or reveal poor ones... and this person need to spend here some time regullary since hosting board has pretty much posts...(BTW if we've got mod which will restrict guests to post on certain boards it would be good to make hosting members only area... this way we can be sure that folks will keep an eye on theirs ofers...).
So any volunteers? Ched, Andy or maybe you Greg since you've mention that this board is pretty spammy Wink , maybe someone of you any good with hosting and would be interested? if any newcommers wish to apply please let us know, but you'll be need to prove that you know this subject.

Greg, I think that your Linux box would be enough for beginning you're mod now! Smiley
Also we'll try to look for helper to you since Hosting Offers is pretty popular place for posting and it would good to have someone for help. So our proposition is still in force, and if someone would like to become mod of the Hosting boards proove us that you're know this subject and we'll grant you Mod position.
