Lately there has been some strong earthquakes in China and Japan causing deaths and devastation. It's all very sad for the people that lost their lives and the families that got their lives disrupted.

But, I recently found out about a possible warning sign in the form of cloud formations.

This week there were some of these clouds in the sky over Japan after the last quake which was around factor 7 about 200km north of where I live. Somebody I know said they saw 4 of these and yesterday I looked up to the sky to see 2. They are trails of clouds like a ploughed field in the sky.

So I will keep my eyes open and hope to take photos of any strange cloud formations that I see. Also, there are a lot of large, old coy carp in our local river so I want to go over there at the same time and maybe spot any unusual activity from them to take as photos to record how critters may be able to sense impending doom/big events in the earth.

Talking with my wife, she mentioned that most of the recent quakes in Japan are in the least expected places, Tokyo is long overdue for a major quake it seems. I have been in an office in Yokohama, Tokyo when it was shook around and apparently it happens every week! So the staff were not alarmed at all  Tongue It freaked me out.

Now I am used to them  Shocked

Right after I got to Japan and situated in a private Japanese rental house, we had an earthquake.   I didn't really know what to do so grabbed 8 month old Jerry and got in the little space at the bottom of the stairs between my section of house and Tony and Jane's section. Not  a lot of damage done but I was "sorta" scared myself.

One thing I found interesting.   A mirror in a wooden frame I had standing on chest leaning against wall was flipped over and landed face up, unbroken, on wooden floor.   That seemed kind of odd to me.    Also learned to take baby and go outside, away from house during earthquake.   Got used to them after a while.

It seems like the best thing to do is get out of the house. But you don't have time so have to think about getting under tables etc.

I didn't feel any this year.

Earthquake is really terrible thing, destroying everything. If you situated on the first or second floor, it is better to jump through the window. But if you are situated higher than the first or second floor, the God can only save you.

Did you experience an Earthquake Basszer? Seems like you had some bad experiences like it.

I experienced a few earthquakes now since I live in Japan and travelled to Japan before where the office was shaking around. Nothing devastating though.

This is an photo I took days after huge flooding in my area due to freak rain fall:

This was taken on Monday.

Check out the fishing boat that is dragged on and off the beach by a JCB and using wooden skid planks.

The horizontal streaks in the clouds are supposed to be some kind of indicator according to my Japanese/Korean friends on the beach that day.

When I was a boy scout I learned about predicting the weather from clouds. The big puffy Cumulus clouds are the rain clouds and the streaky Cirro Stratus? ones are associated with high winds. Then there is the dark saturated areas waiting to spill rain. This looks like a violent thunderstorm in the making to me.
