We are almost half way through 2008 so how is it going so far this year for you?

Hmm...

Well, the house has been under construction most of the year. I am tired of not having a ceiling in the living room. It should be completed soon.

I am trying to clean up the yard, but work keeps getting in the way. I have several rows of plants doing well in the front yard (surprising well considering that we don't have real soil here in Florida.)

My personal life is uneventful-- just the way I like it.

Business is better.

The first half of this year seemed like a blink of the eye.

How about yourself?

Careful not to blink otherwise you might see some snow.

So it's not just the UK where we are DIY nuts and never finish "improving" our homes? I just about completed my jobs before selling the house. I had to leave the central heating turned off when viewers came around. I never did manage to get rid of all the air locks in the system that caused the thumping sound. I think that is the only time most people finish the work on their houses. The place has to hold together just long enough to complete the sale. Then the new owner can get to work on their modifications.

Yeah the year is moving fast. Just getting into the hot, humid monsoon season here where all the bugs come out. My friends that live near the forest area are getting giant centipedes in the house. One got bitten on his finger by one when in bed. He thought he was having a nightmare about being eaten, but it was real. Last night I got attacked by mosquitoes. Woke up with lots of bites on the legs so needed to get some electronic gadget that blows mosquito killing vapour into the room.

The first half of the year was vary difficult and disturbing.   All my goals and plans bit the  dust as I sat isolated in my house on top of the hill amidst stands of cedars and oaks all around me.   Even the miniature horses failed to catch my interest after a while.   I almost became a  couch potato (heaven forbid), lost interest in everything including the internet, etc. etc.   I do believe it is called depression.   Realizing that, I got medicine from the doctor which helped tremendously.   The rest of the year will be great.  I'm moving off the rural hill into the tiny metropolis of Gainesville where I already have contacts, I have a lovely apartment I can't really afford, and am again active on internet and many areas.

Since I am retired, all I have to talk about is my personal life which is definitely looking up.

Thanks for asking, Andy.   I know you were talking about finances and the internet but I just had to speak up.    Grin

Well, it looks like the RedRoom is starting to pick up. It is maintaining its unique hits, with just a slight increase. It has also made $11.00 in less than a month.

For those not familiar with the site, feel lucky; I doubt the url would make it past the word filters.

Time for another round of promotion for the site.

Found my template and some files for the project site; thankfully I made more than one backup, even if it is an older backup. I need to get some work completed on a few sites before I throw myself into the project site; and before I annoy anybody with any more mention of it since it has been almost two years since I conceptualized it. Of course, I won't be able to afford to host this site until I get some other sites producing.

On a personal note, I can probably stop losing weight now. Actually, I'm not dieting; I just started eating better and working out. Several people have commented on how much thinner I am. Ever dropped enough weight that you could fit in your old clothes again...had you kept your old clothes? Cry

I understand this. Some quite painful events have occurred in my life recently. It has changed my perspective on this year's turnout.

Every year I tell myself, "This year will be better." It's not just a motivational speech; I try my best to make things better for myself and those around me. But something-- simple misfortune or bad decisions-- always arises, negatively affecting my plans and intentions.

I try to think of "good" things that have occurred this year... but in relation to the bad or difficult experiences, they seem insignificant and unremarkable. Personal change is an entirely different story. I am determined not to make the same mistakes again. Not to say that I am immune to them, but simply that I am now more aware of them, and can actively make better decisions in the process.

Hi Andy!
Thanks for congratulation. I specialize economical cybernetics. You know, I am very lucky to have a good job. The majority of my group mates are seeking for it, but their search is unsuccessful yet.
