For renewals and new registrations. Normally $9.99 but now $6.99

Also they have $0.99 dot infos, I registered one but there seems to be some fear that dot info is penalised in SE rankings due to their attraction to spammers. I keep looking out for alternative domain names in Google search results but mostly only see dot com, dot net and dot org.

They are practically giving the .info's away so there must be something in that theory.

Seen subsequent year prices?

Of course, there is the attraction for those who want a short-term domain, but there are those who will be looking to save some money, or who are just starting up with domains, who will find the first year prices on dotinfos to be attractive, but feel like being kicked in the nads when it comes renewal time.

When I first got some dotinfos, I let myself get suckered into that. I have a few dotinfos now (two or three) that I got for two years up front because of the lower two year price, but all of the dotinfos I got before now I have let fall off.

I don't know if there is much benefit to the registrar for selling for short-time use. Of course, GoDaddy is so good at beating one over the head with ads that any potential loss up front will probably be made up on the backend.

But it gives you a better chance to register a good domain name. If you pay the renewal fee then your domain should maybe get a good boost in the search engine algo  Cool

Whatever it costs to renew, if you have developed a commercial site it should be no problem to pay the fee. However, I want to make it clear that I support the minimum domain pricing model.

The downside is that you will need the patience to incrementally build your site for over 12 months I think. Or at least 3 months as you bring the new domains into play when you get time to build the sites.

This makes a lot of sense to me but it would be nice to get some hard evidence that it is worth the effort.

It's tempting to buy 100 for $99 but the renewal fees would be a bit painful if you didn't manage to build 100 profitable sites around them.
