Folks, maybe we should have some contest here? like for the writer of best artiles or most helpful member of community? or maybe something else, tell me your ideas?
As it's good to reward best members of our community. Also what would be advices on rewards? maybe it could be e.g. 1000 clicks for banners on our site... or 10000 impressions for banners for winner's site? What do you think about this?
Share your ideas on types of contest you've seen and you like, and on type of rewards as well since we maybe will find better idea how to reward people.

We should give away a free domain to the winner Smiley

Great idea, Greg, this could be fun... and later we may create thread when have some logos for contest and let people vote for them... and the one which have most votes will win... ah yes.. what about prize? Greg what do you think about this? do advertisting here is a good prize or we'll better stick with domain registration like MikeXP suggested?

You could try that. Just specify width and height, and people can submit whatever they think would look good.

hmm don't sure we should say fixed dimension or background sicne our layout could be alter alternated for background of logo... as for size I would suggest:
Height: not smaller than 40 and not bigger than 100 pixels
width: not bigger than 745 pixles...
Also I'm thinking to make a logo full sized check out attached picture.
But before starting contest what do you think would be a good reward?

Umm... Why don't you ask Greg, he came up with the idea Wink I was thinking something along the lines of a button at the bottom of the forum, but I really don't know.

Also, you might also want to specify what colors submitters may use. You could say you only wanted logos with colors that match the current design, or you could tell people to use any colors they like.

You know, Mr. Greg should be telling you all of this, seeing that he's the one who wanted to do the whole logo competition thing Azn
I'm not much of a competitor, if you do decide to go for something like this I might not even submit... Oh what the heck, might as well.

i want something more than just a domain.

why not just a date with rachel...if rachel wins she gets a date with me(no one else submit though) j/k

I am awful at coming up with prizes for this stuff though. so i have no clue
1 year domain registration would be fine, but i would want it to be able to be set up to add another year onto my current domain instead of a new one. I already have 3 domains, and am wanting to get rid of one.

Well if the winner gets a date with Rachel, who's paying for plane tickets?

Yeah right! Angry

Anyway, I'm not even sure Denis wants to go with this idea. Didn't you want to create the logo by yourself? It would probably be fun, but don't do it unless you actually want to.

Besides, we could always do banner/button design contests instead. I mean, there's plenty of options if you didn't like the logo design idea.

hehe date with Rachel would be too coslty prize for logo Wink as for colors and such I don't want to limit anyone as I've said before we may match our layout to logo if this would be necessary.

I'm not sure what does it mean what do you mean you will need to set-up it? I'm not good with domains so don't sure how it's all operate. that's why I offer advertising in first place. but if someone could tell how it's work we may do this.

Rachel, that's not depend from me but from us, since I want to know what other folks like to do and what they want to get as a reward except of feeling satisfaction from the vicotry  Grin Currently it would be good if we rewamp our design and later start with banners and buttons IMHO.

Alrighty, whatever makes you happy. Wink I figured we would have the banner/button design contest after the redesign, like you said.

you know you have to register and re-register domains correct? Like for example, you will have to reregister in january:
Created:  14-jan-2002
Expires:  14-jan-2004

You have to pay to reregister domains, or you loose them. What i was saying is if you are going to register a domain, why not also just pay for the regestration of a domain? mine is like $13 i think. thats not too much.
