Hi,

I checked rankings for one of my big keywords on Google and when i checked the Cached link there was no cache. The page has been indexed for a few years and does quite well.

Does this mean the page has been kicked out of the index? We've not done anything black hat. Could this just be temporary?

Maybe the cache got hit with a duplicate content penalty?

There is a cache now but what could have caused this?

I don't understand how a duplicate content penalty could cause the no cache. Could there be another version of the home page out there? Could there be a site hijacking my PR?

I was thinking that competitive teams in the Googleplex caused this anomaly, and now the teams talked to each other to resolve the issue, it's now fixed. At least that's my theory. I blame overly aggressive search engine algorithms, possibly even fighting against each other.

Anyway, I am glad that the issue seems to be resolved and you can at last relax and regain lost hours of sleep.
