wow, this is what I call news Shocked I didn't suppose this to happen, probably as many other folks as well since Yahoo already own Inktomi so I couldn't thought they would be interested in buying other major player... it would be interesting to see what it would do with Overture... maybe it will use ATW in the future as a search result provider?(just trying to guess) Roll Eyes Anyway it seems like Yahoo want to put itself on the throne of the search engines and probably it could do this now...

I am shocked. This brings the number of viable search engines down again. It scares me because you never know what Yahoo has planned. They may just shut down all these other engines and just runs Yahoo.com.

hope that it not will be this way... and Yahoo will not eliminate main competiror of Google, as ATW is one  of the search engines who bring most innovation features to search industry...  Undecided

yahoo will end up using ATW serps instead of Google's. Yahoo originaly was going to use ATW actualy, and decided to go with Google instead.

Just 3 major players now. Google, Yahoo, and the soon to be MSN search. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

it's not claim anything about ATW or AV but it's assure that Overture network itself will be functioning as previously...  (hope it will be so).

AV is already owned by Yahoo, they bought that a little while back. ATW and all affiliates of Overture are included in the package.

just read your article Greg, it's great! and I think you're right in your predictions at least I have less or more same ideas... the only difference is that I believe that Google will not give up so easily. I think it will be aflot for a long time even if Yahoo will switch to ATW.
