Is there much more of a sign of geekdom, aside from web design, than finding pictures of radios to be exciting?

*That was a rhetorical question and does not need to be answered. Tongue

I like the older style multi band radios, especially with the colored bandwidth scales and flip-up world time chart/calculator.

Looking around on eBay for some models had me thinking about possibly integrating this interest, somehow, into my CargoShip site.

I was thinking of possibly having a page with different color bars and setting it up like a pixel site where each space on the bars would link to a feed for an online radio channel.

It would be cool if I could somehow have the audio play as the visitor scans across the tuning bar, but that would probably be too resource heavy for dial-up users.

I am not familiar with online radio and need to check into it.

Just a thought; really too raw of an idea at this point to get much feedback on it.

isn't this called a hobby? To me it doesn't sounds geeky but maybe I'm geek myself and this is the reason it's look normal to me Smiley

I also like such radios especially those which glow in the nigh, we had JVC radio when I was a child and it worked really good.

Maybe I'm a bit late as XMas have already passed but I couldn't remind where I put this radio. Here is one not very old but it was done in xUSSR era and powered from 4 AA battaries. Maybe you'll find a place for it in your collection. If you need I have it in bigger resolution, just doesn't posted it here to save on bandwidth.
