After thread posted by Graham today, I thought to ask if winter come to your area and you've started to prepare for celebrations?
Here we still don't have real snow(except short snowfall on 1st December, but snow was melting in the air) and this week we've got some decorations for X-mas and NewYear in shops and on the market.

Unfortunately, with my overly commercial country that looks at anything from a perspective of how to make more from it, we have had Christmas stuff in the stores since October and even some since September. Really kind of takes away from the Christmas spirit when the retailers treat themselves as all that matters.

No snow here just yet, but it is starting to get very cold.

About Wednesday-ish i got the large Christmas tree out and was going to put it up, but changed my mind and got a smaller Christmas tree out instead. At the moment i've got a small (16 inch) tree sat on top of my DVD recorder and i've put 7 Christmas cards on a shelf and that's it. Should get some more cards though from work and friends.

I've bought my wife a ring for Christmas and i think she's bought me a season ticket to go watch Castleford rugby league team.

Oh and i break up from work a week next Friday and i've got 10 days off before going back to work next year.

I don't actually celebrate any Winter holidays. I wish everyone a "Merry Christmas" out of kindness, but that is the extent of my celebration.

A bit off-topic, but have you seen how many Christmas lights some people have in gardens and windows. They must use almost as much electric as a small country.

year we already got a lot windows decorated like this. Actually we also put lights on the window but usually turn it on only on NY, Birthday and maybe some other days. Anyway we still don't have a xmas tree and doesn't decorate our home as low on time and xmas tree aren't selling here yet.

BTW We have about 5 decorating lights in total. What about others, how many lights are you using?

I went out to a couple of places last night with friends for a Christmas celebration, but that's it for me now. I will just phone my parents house on Christmas day to wish family well. No silly lights and tree. Well, the kids in my family have now matured so the present unwrapping frenzy is no more.

Maybe it's because I am tending to even out the peaks and troughs in happiness and enjoyment in life so every day is good and I don't live for the weekend anymore and get depressed on Monday when the fun is over. In Japan, Christmas is not part of the tradition but it seems like stores are trying hard to make it so.

p.s. we had a few flakes of snow recently and the distant mountains have some snow on them.

Anyway, I hope everyone who has a Christmas day celebration, has a great time and your family bonding is kept strong.
