I was looking for inspiration for website logos today and found this guy's site:

http://wardley.org/graphics/index.html

The examples of logos are very good and there are some free graphics for website buttons that you can use without having to provide a back link.

This is what I came up with after this surf:

Unrelated to what I saw before but maybe it helped me switch brain halves over?

That's a very nice site. His logos for the most part seem to be fairly simple, yet high quality (which explains to me why you liked it in the first place.)

I have noticed that it helps to visit art/design websites before starting on a new design or art project, simply for inspiration. Most of the time I do not actually draw from the images themselves, it just helps me think more creatively. It's also good to have references if you need guidance with the layout or overall "feel" of an image.

This is my experience, anyway. I think I'm answering 'yes' to your question here. Wink

I agree with you here but from other side have a problem as after visiting sites and looking for other conception I try to make something really different and task sometimes become even more harder and sometimes project die even before it really starts Tongue
So I try to visit sites with care.

On second thought, Andy... there are some logos here that defy conventional design.  It may look amateurish too.
