Robbers shot dead in bank raid

Two robbers have been shot dead in an attempted armed robbery at a Hampshire UK bank. The incident happened as the pair attempted to rob a security van outside the HSBC branch in Chandlers Ford.
 
Do you think the police should have the right to take the lives of bank robbers or anyone else come to that ?

I would say "yes". If someone has a gun and is in a situation where they might use it, then the police should be able to shoot them dead.

I believe that if someone make a choice and took a gun to kill or threat other people than police have right to use same force against him to protect the rest of people.
Here banks are seems to robbed very frequently lately but fortunately they mostly choose banks which doesn't have security and robber them at night time so the only damage is caused to property.

Wonder if police manage to take them alive how long they would stay in prison according to your laws?
