- FREE Hosting for life

Well now, ain't that wonderful (the sarcasm is intentional).

A few questions:

Hosting for the length of whose life?

Being that you are offering free hosting, uh....do you like have a link to sign up for the hosting?

Terms:
- No database driven web sites
- 200 mb server space limit
- 10 email accounts limit
- No content management systems
- Small link on your home page to our web site
- NO Adult / Hate Sites!

Let me get this straight...

...limited hosting?

You are going to have to do better than that for the good people of this forum.

I provide a free hosting service with 300 MB of space, 10 GB of bandwidth, 5 databases, and adult sites are allowed.

Come on. If you are serious about offering hosting, then best me by offering more than I do.

Seems like the free hosting is for web design customers: http://www.prowebmarketing.com Is it the RIP package?

I may be unusual in that most of the sites I build don't need anywhere near 200MB of space. Bandwidth is more important to me.

btw. Menard's hosting is Ad Supported. Maybe adult ads  Shocked

To generally accept that webmasters are mortal.

Andy --

We have no intentions of going out of business or dying.  Smiley

If the situation is present itself, out partner company would take over the hosting.

Prowebmarketing, where may I locate and register for your free hosting? I see no link in the original post, and the only other available link (your homepage) does not give me any access to registration. Is this service only included in web design packages or is it available regardless of whether or not I purchase products/services from prowebmarketing? Thank-you for your time.

P.S. I modified your original post because I believe that available bandwidth should be specified.

Rachel --

Thank you for the inquire. You get the free hosting regardless of you buying any of ours services. We are simply providing free hosting to expand our portfolio and hoping in the future you may use one of our services. Thank you for modifing our original post.

To start, we need some form of contact from you, either telephone or email (preferably telephone, makes things alot easier) to begin the process and answer any questions you may have. Once we have that info, our project manager will contact you and walk you threw everything. Looking forward to doing business with you. Thanks again!  Smiley

Pardon me for interfering again, but that comes off as BS.

'Who are you?' is a question someone should have on the top of their mind when being approached by a complete stranger soliciting their phone number.

If you want to be a legitimate business, you need to make the effort for your client; not have them make the effort for you.

If it is contact you desire, then make it easy on the person you are wishing to contact you. Have some kind of contact form, or, better yet, the ability to sign up for hosting right from your site.

Not offering an open and available form of contact for potential clients comes off in one of two way: it is amateurish, or it is a scam.

Which one are you?

That was my first thought also with red flags waving a lot.

I have to admit that I feel very uneasy about the whole idea. Why wasn't this specified on your website? You have to offer something manageable to clients (including the ones using your free services), or it just won't work. I'm sorry, but this seems both dishonest and unreasonable. The process you just explained should have been laid out in your original post or, at the very least-- made available on your website.

The offer is not specified on our web site because this is an unadvertised special that we just started to try. We typically offer web site packages with free hosting. In this case we thought to expand our portfolio we would test the forum market and offer free hosting. Manageable? We are happy to set up a page on the site in which you can fill out a form with the nessecary info, if you would feel more comfortable. We did not explain the entire process because it was the advertisement not the process. We figured when people/companies that are interested, we would simply walk them threw the transfer process. Also we assumed people would feel more comfortable talking with someone in person then in a forum or email. BS? Ha ha, if you have a concerns about the integrity of our company, you are surely mistaken. We are not here to beg for business we simply thought offer free hosting to grow our portfolio. If you would like to move forward, our contact information is on our web site. We can be reached 9-5pm Mon-Fri.
