I have been trying a new browser called Swiftweasel. It is a knock off of Firefox that has been optimized and seems to work quite well it imported all my Firefox extensions and themes without a hitch. Swiftweasel 2.0.0.5 boots about 3 to 4 times faster than Firefox 2.0.0.6 with the same tabs open on my machine.

I've come across it several times but never tried myself, I've used either IceDove coming with Debian by default or download Firefox from their site. But after your post about fast startup I decide to try it out myself, also it's claimed that Swiftweasel is nothing else but just optimized build for Linux, and I was going to make optimized build myself when got time.
I'm downloading it now and will report how I like it later.
Thanks for info, Don!

Now I'm using Swiftweasel for quite a while and wish to tell BIG Thank You, Don, for sharing this!
Otherwise I'm not sure if I would find a time to try it, but I'm glad I've did.
Don't know how it work on other systems but on my PC it's several times faster than usual FireFox or Iceweasel. It's work just like an Opera IMHO in terms of speed but still have same functionality and all add-ons still working.

Wonder if you're using SwiftDove also or you have different mailer?

BTW for anyone interested in it, it's look like site was moved to new location, now Swiftweasel could be found under this address: http://swiftweasel.tuxfamily.org/
