Just read an news that PayPal going to raise it's fee for services:
Quote
In related news, PayPal is increasing certain fees associated with its Website Payments Pro service, effective Sept. 1. In an e-mail it sent to merchants Thursday, PayPal said the monthly charge for the service will rise to $30 from $20. Transaction pricing for the Virtual Terminal component of the product will also go up. The new pricing will be 2.4% plus 30 cents to 3.1% plus 30 cents, depending on volume, up from 2.2% plus 30 cents to 2.9% plus 30 cents. Also, PayPal will start levying a 30-cent fee for Website Payments Pro authorizations in cases where transactions aren’t settled within 29 days. Up to now, there has been no fee in these cases.

I doesn't use PayPal for website payments, but hope that other companies in this business doesn't follow PayPal and leave fees on the current rate.

Is there a better option than Paypal? People should start switching over. I have always objected to the way they handled things, and the price hike doesn't leave me with pleasant feelings. I use them simply out of convenience.

I'm afraid there is no alternative to it at least I'm not aware of any. I'm using 2CO but they seems to have higher prices anyway...

It's funny and probably a coincidence but they just raised the minimum wage here and now every thing in the stores is higher priced and now you say PayPal is more expensive also. The raise in minimum wage just puts more money in the pockets of the rich and does nothing for the workers. Now I'll get off my soap box. Grin

I just like to mention that there is no monthly charge to use PayPal as a business user if you don't mind people making their payment on the PayPal site.

You can also automate the payment process with a script on your site. Again without paying a monthly fee.

That's right. They raise the fee for anyone that uses Paypal for on-site credit card transactions. I always used the free service, but I know that some people will be unhappy about this.

There's really nothing worse than Amazon.com fees, though... they take 25% of each sale.

Too bad, although eBay just announced they are lowering theirs.

Edit reason: signature moved to profile.
