I've just come across this site: http://easyubuntu.freecontrib.org/ which is homepage of tool which used to help people installing a lot of useful things, it's written of Ubuntu so I didn't tried it myself but thought that someone who use Ubuntu may be interested in it. Would be glad to hear some opinions here.
BTW here is the list of things which could be done with it:

Quote
Easy Ubuntu is easy, graphical and safe.

    * All the modified files are backed up.
    * Unless you ask for it, your sources.list is not modified.
    * EasyUbuntu can be translated into your language
    * Runs on Ubuntu, Kubuntu and Xubuntu without installing additional software.

Screenshot

    * Nvidia: install the official driver to enable 3D on Nvidia graphics cards

That sounds like it could be useful to many Linux users if they don't already have those features built in. However after some research (as some of the items listed I was not familiar with) I found all of those features are built into SimplyMEPIS. However they are not all automatically installed but are listed in the Synaptic Package like Wengo is there but not installed while Skype is installed by default. I didn't find any of the problems EasyUbuntu offers to fix that are not already fixed with SimplyMEPIS 6.5.

Links and accurate information provide the best answer, while garbage in provides garbage out.

yeah this tool doesn't offer anything new, everything is either could be installed via Synaptic or other means, the reason to use such tool from what I understand is to avoid digging through system and to use console(like in case with latest Nvidia drivers or Java).
