I found WebmasterWorld useful, but stopped visiting SitePoint because many of the members were unhelpful, competitive, and arrogant. I did not feel welcomed or wanted. Those were the only two webmaster forums beside Webmaster Key that I ever frequented.

I was on WebmasterWorld but quickly get lost there so didn't attend it frequently, I also registered on Digitalpoint.com and Sitepoint.com but never was very active on any of it. I liked webmaster-talk but because of too strict rules about posting links to any especially competing resources I've stop visiting it as well. I've registered with many other forums as well but can't remind everything now.

Now I tend to prefer blogs to forums since the owner is generally an expert in their chosen field and the site is not contaminated by bogus information such as socially engineered posts, spam and unimformed advice.

you're right that blog owners are usually experts in some field but there are drawbacks from other side since you generally got only one opinion of course if blog isn't very popular and you have to use many blogs if you have wide interests...

People can easily comment on Blog posts. If you have wide interests then the forum would also lose focus. I am convinced that for new sites it is better to blog but for established forums like this, it works OK where there is a community in place.

I use digitalpoint forums too. Their marketplace is surely one of the best, allowing members to make 1000s of deals per day.

Sitepoint forums too have a custom coded marketplace that is suitable for high money deals.
