I got position 5 for cargoship but there will be some skew depending on demographics. I clicked the link to go through to your site which I always encourage people to do in case the search engine is checking the follow-though which I think they should be doing.

wip-flicks I was going to say that this one is too easy but you are at #7 in my search. Of course I clicked the link to give it a boost.

Nice to get some response to this thread all the same  Smiley

I don't care much for Google as the results show too many irrelevant pages.

In Yahoo for the phrase no cost websites I have the 2nd, 3rd & 4th positions out of 30,000,000.

In Yahoo for the phrase best free programs I am 10th out of 208,000,000.

In Google for the phrase articles templates reviews I am 3rd out of 30,300,000

Don, you are ranking well!

I got curious about this after getting more interested in developing pages to rank high from the start rather than simply posting and hoping for the best.

I took a risk with one of my sites that was #2 on the big G and changed the static home page over to a dynamic one listing my latest posts on an inner blog. At first it slipped to #3 but after some more changes I seem to be back to #2 out of 7,390,000 sites. At the moment I am being beaten by an ezine article. But my latest change doesn't seem to have registered yet i.e. home page description tag.

My key phrase is Lottery Tips

I haven't fully optimised for this phrase since it is not that important, my main aim was that my site is found for the new topics.

For newbies, the main aim is to create your own original content since content is king. You can start by creating new topics on forums.

Search Engine Optimization is a deep tunnel. In search engine optimization suppose, I am planning to check the powerful rankings.

I searched "lucky boy". and found that a particular website is ranking on top 1 page among "14,600,000"  Shocked

Does that mean website has powerful rankings ??

Absolutely not   Tongue

The power of search engine ranking depend upon how competitive a particular keyword is. If only 4 websites are planning to target keyword "lucky boy", and manage to score top rankings, all 4 of them will score top rankings  Grin

Strength of search engine optimization lies in the fact "What rankings do you score for "competitive keywords" ?

I am sure you got the picture correct  Tongue

But, if you want to create a brand name, better to go with an obscure keyword like I did. Then you can get a top placement easily and once the brand name gets noticed nobody can beat you  Grin

The brand name I chose was so obscure that I thought it must be unique but alas someone else got there first! A sailor who was lost at sea in the 1800's off the British coast. Hopefully I can get some support from his ghost  Grin

Are there any unique believable names left?
