Unusual way to secure a great domain name

The other day I registered an amazing .com domain name. I could hardly believe it was available.

The technique I used was to simply add a letter between 2 words that are in ultrahigh demand. The letter I used was...

well lets just say it is a letter that sounds OK when you read the domain name so it will be easy to remember and the combined words are explainable as why you did it.

Now I am wondering if there is any problem in inserting an alphabetical character betwen the words of a domain name. I highly suspect not going by the way google highlights the keywords in search results. I know it seems to be bad practice to use dashes between words. Maybe I am the first to think of this technique?

To do a simple trademark check I tend to simply search for the words on Google and see if they come up on company websites. This is important I think otherwise you may end up having to give some company your domain name.
