I know it was 4 days ago but I didn't have a chance to ask about it earlier.
Last year I really start thinking that there is something in Chinese calendar as year of Dog cause so many troubles to all my friends and relatives that we couldn't wait when it ends.
I'm really hope that new year which starts on 18 Feb stop our misfortune.
Wonder if anyone else celebrated Chinese New Year?
Here we didn't have any party for it, just told wishes to each other and my girlfriend made for this occasion flower basket from spring flowers we got on our balcony.

Wish everyone happy and prosperous N :Dew Year!

We did much the same as you with my wife making a small stuffed Red Pig and hope that this year of the Red Fire Pig is better than the year of the Dog.

I didn't do anything for the start of the Year of the Pig. I just watched news about it on TV.

I don't tend to "hope" things will be better in the future. What I do is to have a vision of where I want to be in the future and upload this data to the universe through my subconscious thoughts like a program. Then some magical things seem to happen as you go about your day to day life. These dreams turn into reality.

I also think there may be a balance of good and bad fortune in everybody's life so it may be better to not get too excited if you win the lottery etc.?

So if you want a better future, you have to ask for it now by visualising it. You have to have it in the back of your mind all the time, not just on new year's day. Religious people ask god for what they want out of life. Others maybe ask the devil? But if you read the standard texts on lifetime achievement you will understand the concept of "what the mind can conceive and believe. It can achieve."

If you are in a hard environment to prosper, maybe it is a good idea to read some books about people that were in worse situations than yourself and triumphed? Maybe some biographies? Feeding off positive things rather than negative is best.

your way seems to be more appealing than just hoping for better luck although it's all about belief IMHO and if you can program yourself positively and it works than it's good...

actually I believed in some kind of balance as well, and I've start playing in lottery for 20 cents almost daily(I have own theory of numbers but till now it didn't work Smiley ). And of course I would be excited to win in lottery but till now I just mostly cover my expenses for it and had some extra money maybe enough to buy a bottle of beer per month Grin

I've tried something like this long time ago but it didn't worked for me, anyway it doesn't cost anything to try it again, so why not

don't think that reading biographies would be a good idea, as such stories influence on me negatively showing me that I couldn't do job well.

Anyway I don't sure if believe in Chinese new year as well, as few minutes later when I've made this post and go with Svetlana to kitchen to have late supper we've got a fire in a room, power surge start melting and fire drop to curtains which luckily was from synthetic fiber so didn't burn up fast  Smiley
Gladly I return to room before fire become bigger so I was able to extinguish it myself. There is no big damages, just lost few cords from PC which I've replaced today. Also we've spend whole night and previous day to clean up walls and things from burning particles(mostly from plastic and resin) and getting rid of odor.  Grin
(BTW I should say that having HEPA filter with integrated ionizer helped at least from what we could say, it help to have breathable air and lower irritating smell in the room, ventilation wasn't possible for long term as temperature outside is below 0 C).

From now I'll be more careful with electricity checking connections closely than before.
I would really recommend not use power plugs which are flaky and replace them as soon as possible!
