If at all possible avoid Global Internet Solutions (GISOL) at all costs.  These people are incredibly incompetent and will attempt to screw you in every possible way.

A year ago, I had trouble with their hosting always being down, so some of the sites that I had been hosting with them I changed the DNS to a different host.  This year, I go to renew those domain names and they tell me that they are the ones that own the domain names and that the only way I can renew them is to create a new hosting account.  I already have 30k MB of hosting through them and they tell me that I have to buy more in order to renew my domain name.  INCREDIBLE!!!

I asked them to transfer the domain name to a different registrar and they tell me that they are the legal owners and if I want to buy the domain name outright I have to pay them $500.  Be warned, never ever ever register your domain name through GISOL, you will not own it and they will hold it hostage.

Hmm, if a company offers a "free domain name" with hosting you probably need to wonder why they are being so generous. And if they are offering cheap hosting for sites that are normally premium in cost then maybe they are planning to cash in on the successful ones by swiping the domain name?

For flexibility and security I am tending to purchase domain names and hosting separately.
