Dear members

I have one question to ask. I just checked backlinks of one of my sites on yahoo site explorer and noted that the first site being shown in the results is a site which has my link with a "nofollow" attribute.

Does this mean that yahoo doesnt care about rel="nofollow"? Can anybody else check and confirm this from their own sites? And what about MSN?
Any suggestions?

Thanks

Google still has a page of mine on an adult site listed which I had marked as a 'noindex'.

It was just an exit page, but I don't need it anymore, but I didn't want to delete it as it is indexed at present. I think I'll throw a keyword rich redirect page in its place just to see if I can slime them off.

*uh, slime just doesn't have the same ring to it as the word I used. Grin

All the three search engines, follow "nofollow" standards, but they sometimes follow "nofollow" links and show them as baclinks.

The nofollow link is a way to indicate to search engines that you don't neccessarily trust the link is to a reputable site. Every site deserves some scrutiny from the search engines.

This doesn't answer the question but provides some info that would maybe answer related questions.
