just wonder what type of trees are used by people to celebrate Xmas and new year. I like a lot alive trees because of their smell and look, it reminds me time when I was a child. But after all rumors about radioactive pines for last years I start thinking that maybe it's worth to replace it with artificial...

I voted "artificial pine", but it's a fiber optic christmas tree.

We've got some fiber optic ones here but they all seems to have hard life during shipping as I didn't see any which wasn't at least slightly damaged. BTW I like thing changing colors and maybe even get myself tree like this: http://www.usbgeek.com/prod_detail.php?prod_id=0573 it's powered from USB.

Well, what next!!!!!!

I like colour changing also......but you cannot surpass a live pine......covered in flickering lights, twinking all around.

At one stage here in Aus you could buy a live pine (remembering Xmas here is usually approx. 35degreees heat) at one dollar (aus) a foot.  Now it is $20 for 2 metres (whichequals 78 inches in the old language.)!!!

what about spraying scents around pine? Grin I'm joking as don't believe that anything could replace real smell of pine. BTW We've planted three pine in our garden but they are very small yet.

you had very cheap prices there, what has happened with them?

BTW Recently I've saw TV program that several years ago in Ozz was found small natural resort where very old pines were found(oldest tress on the planet they said) and that this evergreen tree is very easy to grow and that it would be soon sold in shops so anyone can buy a pot to grow it at own home.
