Hay folks, I am still a bit hung up on understanding URL's and what and how they work.

I wrote on another thread that I was trying to upload my avatar onto a forum site I belong to. Can some one give me a good example of how I would take a avatar from my system and up load it to a forum site.

I would also like to know how would I place a example drawing or sketch on a thread I am talking with some one about a subject as a explaination drawing such as Using the picture Icon above?

What is "PHP"?

The easiest way to get an avatar or image linked to a forum is to upload it from your computer to http://imageshack.us/ then link it from there into either your avatar field in your profile or into your post if it is an image you want to post. The little picture frame symbol in the buttons above the reply box will put the image tags into your post, then just copy and paste the url (from the direct link option on Imageshack) between the tags; unless it is a large image, then use their thumbnail option which includes the proper tags.

You can also host images with http://photobucket.com/

It is a server side scripting language. Beyond that, I need to ask how long of an answer do you want?
