Recently new born mobile operator start time limited promotion offering 1Gb of GPRS traffic for 6.90$ which is extremely low for our country(even home networks have more expensive prices). But because of high load of cell network speed isn't great.

Since I'm on Linux most programs which compress traffic didn't had compatible versions I can run, but I've managed to find cross platform Java program which is able to run not only on Linux OS but Pocket PC and other portable devices which able to run applications on Java.

this service is offered by www.toonel.net for free, it let you save on fee using 3G/GPRS/DSL/CDMA or any other connection where you pay for used bandwidth. On my GPRS connection which doesn't support any compression method I've already saved 38% of outgoing and 58% of incoming traffic, and this program really speed up loading of certain sites, so I believe it's worth to try.

Program would serve just like small proxy which could be used in any program which could work via proxy.

To run this program in Linux you'll need to download client from www.toonel.net and Java(http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp ), if you already Java installed on your PC to run toonel.jar it's necessary execute:
Code:
java -jar toonel.jar

Hope it help to save your money!
