Hi all ... I got this from another forum sometime ago seems to work well for me
... check it out  Cool

This might look like a daunting task... but is easy to do if you take it one step at a time

You will be amazed at how much faster your Firefox browser runs and just takes 2 minutes to do!

Here are the steps to follow:

1) Write about:config in the address bar of Firefox and press [ENTER]

2) Look for the following lines and change their value: (They should be in alphabetical order)

network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining

(Double-Click on each one to change from "false" to "true")

3) Double-Click on the line for network.http.pipelining.maxrequests and change the number
from 4 to any number between 20 and 30.

4) Right-Click on any place in the page and select New , then Integer. Name the new field
 nglayout.initialpaint.delay and assign a zero value (0).

5) Close your Firefox browser and open it again.

If you have a high speed connection, e.g., cable, dsl, etc. you will see the difference inmediately.

Enjoy the speed  Wink

thanks for posting this info Phillip!
I didn't know about this and was amazed by how many features could be altered like this, I like it a lot! Smiley
I've also enable pipelining, I didn't spot difference in speed yet but I've used pipelining in Mozilla and it make pages to load a bit faster.

PS I've moved your topic in HOWTO as think that it could be useful for other people too and here it could be found more easily IMHO.
