JPEG PNG GIF Image Size Code

I have worked out how to extract this info from image files if people badly want to know. Most are easy except for JPEG. For some reason, the JFIF(JPEG) spec is missing alot of info. The Exif version of Jpeg is easy to understand though, this includes lots of digital-camera specific data.

Andy, what language you've used to extract this data? I've develop small script for extracting EXIF from JPEG in PHP to implement it into photo gallery but decide not include it first version of software to make release happen faster.
What about other image formats, I thought that only RAW and JPEG contain such information or I'm wrong and some other formats have text data as well?

You are right as regards the simple web image formats. The code I have developed is only to get the dimensions of the image. I am using this code in my web dev software to help make the img html include width and height parameters. I am not looking at the Exif data at all. I am using RealBasic btw offline.

btw I think PHP has some functions to get EXIF data easily from a JPEG file. But it needs to be enabled in the php installation.

exactly, this library I've used to extract EXIF data, it's pretty easy to do.
