Just wish to say to those who was going to sell something on Ebay for the first time but never tried this because of fees. Today I've spot that they had promotion for first time sellers, which will last for few days and let people who never sold anything to put their products for sale at no charge:

Hope it would be useful to someone.

Denis, you live in a part of the world that most people know little about. Your culture was closed off from the rest of the world for many years. I am sure you can pick up some small toy or decorative item fairly inexpensive at a store and sell it on ebay to folks from around the world for a small profit. As time goes on, you will be able to afford some of the more expensive items and sell them for a larger profit on ebay.

I would suggest you doing some shopping at your local stores to see what is inexpensive. Then take a look at ebay and see what they are selling for there or if they are even selling. This will give you some ideas on what is a good choice.

I've already thinking about this other day... One of my friend asked if it would be worth to sell gifts made from seashells and sand(different animals, flowers, ships, mirrors decorated like this and other products), we have them made locally and they could be bought for affordable price. But after some thinking I thought that shipping may cost more thant product itself so people wouldn't be interested in such products. Also I wasn't sure if they could survive postal service...
As for our culture I should say that it's not that interesting, during communism times ancient traditions were lost and not much original products are left. We also have some pottery gifts made here but they are related to Crimea or Kerch and probably would be more interesting for people who was here.
Anyway I'm broken right as waiting for money to arrive, but until this happen promotion would be finished. So unless I find something I have but doesn't need anymore I'll have to try selling on EBay some other time but for money.

After realizing that people can sell anything on eBay I had to try it myself. You can too. As regards postage costs, you add that separately to your ad and people will pay. Like I sold a 20p (10c) item and got much more in postage money to cover shipping (I think it was at least 10x the bid price). Your postage cost is not hidden so you are not doing any kind of deception.

I sold stuff mostly as an experiment but everything sold. The items I sold include: a ducted fan unit from a model aircraft, an old Tom Jones record and a Jaguar car. To sell items well you need to adopt a marketing approach though with a well presented sales page and good customer service.

guess I just can't sell old things becuase of my nature as think that I still may need it in future Grin or either they wouldn't be useful for anyone else. I'm thinking about selling old PSU unit which I don't use because it's louder than my current one. Just not sure if someone needs it and if there would be no problem with delivery.

Denis, you would be surprised what people will buy on eBay. It is shocking.

You should just sell anything for the experience. Then you will learn for next time.

Personally, I wouldn't sell a spare power supply since it is useful incase the quiet one failed sometime. So you can quickly get your pc back up and running while you replace the failed unit.

Is there any junk in second-hand stores from the former soviet era that would be of interest to collectors in the West? Crimea is famous from the war.

this is just exactly what I was thinking, that's why I still not start selling it Smiley
I also decide not sell my old digital cameras just because I wouldn't get much for them, both doesn't work well also, so it would be more interesting to collect them as coins Wink
As for second hand shops they mostly sell cloths from Britain and Germany nothing from xUSSR area, there are somg goods like this sold on the market but I have less than 2 dollars right now in pocket, money should arrive shortly but till that moment promotion would be finished anyway Tongue

from what I know selling ancient artifacts isn't legal or you need to have special permission to do this. And we don't have any gifts associated with war from what I know, at least I didn't seen anything in shops I've visited.
