I redesigned a site recently (schooloftheworld.org). While cleaning up the server, I found all sorts of bad pages and relics of seo gone wrong. Its all gone now.. but I am wondering if there is any way to check if the engines have a grudge against the site.

It seems that yahoo has reindexed the site while google has a disgraceful listing of older results that havent resolved for over a month.

I am in the process of using gSiteCrawler to make me a sitemap.. and I am going to submit it of course...

Welcome to WKey, Stan30!
Unfortunately from what I know there is no way to check what status your site have with search engines. Google Sitemap sounds to me as best way to go in this situation, I think that once you submit sitemap they would give your site a try, but while you didn't maybe it's worth to create entry for site anyway, as such entry could give you some useful information about site(it would be good if Google can notify you there if site is suspended for black SEO or something but I never heard of this so it's just my dream probably Wink ). Anyway maybe if Google stat would show that your site wasn't visited by crawler for a long period of time it could be evidence that something is wrong with site's status.(that's just my theory)
