I did not do this moon justice by this picture and I guess the object on the left is a spaceship of some sort, but this was the huge harvest moon that is 4 times the size of the regular full moon and gold and fantastic! I was coming home from the mall and saw this and couldn't wait to get home and get my camera and go back out for a shot. I am lousy at nite shots and truely lost the beauty of the subject, but here it is...

hi Jags, and welcome to forum! Smiley
Thanks for sharing this picture I really wonder what object it could be, can you describe how it was moving or if other unusual things happen to it?
Also can you tell me how fast was shutter speed? (Just asking to get better feeling of how fast this object was moving).

Hi Denis, I was just kidding about the space ship Grin. I don't know about shutter speed. I shot this with my digital camera and tried a few different settings. I was trying to catch the beautiful harvest moon. Oddly I think that was the title I put on this thread("Harvest Moon"),but now it says "UFO or Not"

Anyway I am really bad at getting night shots and there are always wierd things in the background like the "spaceship". I just figure it was a reflection of lite from somewhere. I did not see anything else in the sky when taking the picture except the moon.

Here is a great example of "wierd" things in my shots. This was taken in the same vicinity as the previous picture, a few minutes apart-the bight light is a street light, but the other things look like ghosts! Grin I didn't even get the moon in this frame although that is what I was going for. Shocked
