Hi Sergey,

Nice to have you in our forum....... Grin

I use both PHP and ASP in scripting sites. Coldfusion is one I have not played with. I run Apache, IIS & Websphere. I have around somewhere a copy of Jrun?? I like IIS w/ ASP & PHP for my home server, as you can see it can host both. Apache on Linux is always a winner for PHP. Websphere on Win2k works well.

I'm not sure which is better

ASP is fee-based Microsoft specific so only runs on MS environment.

PHP is free-based `(open-source).

I'm not sure about a comparison of capabilities and supported platforms. I assume ASP is only supported on paid licence platforms whist PHP runs on Windows and Linux.

PHP does most things I can imagine for free.
ASP is probably a good choice for supporting MS Office files.

Best to download both to your computor and try out with a simple page to assess which best suits your needs. Anyone care to post the relevant links?
