I felt the need to inform this community of my recent experince with Ipower stronger than my need to leave this forum! I guess I love this place too much!

Okay, here's the deal!

I registered my new domain with Ipower about 3 weeks ago(after hearing about it in this forum). On the 27th, I decided to register another domain, with the words I use as a title to that site, just in case it takes off and someone else buys the domain of that title...

The first domain, I had no problem with...

The second one...YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They say there is a problem with a server or something...after MUCH effort to get any comment...

I eventually went to calling them after not getting anywhere online and would get a live person, they would say I will check it out, be back and I would get the initial recording that all operators are busy etc...and start all over.

This company seems much more interested in getting new clients than making sure that the new clients are served!

It's been kind of a nitemare and still there is no pre-dns-propagation availabilty to view my new domain.

And the way things are looking...I am wondering if they are so totally scattered the site will get up at all.
I was trying to get away from registerfly, which I have been with for the past few years, but I never had an experience with them as disorganized as this!

Just a warning! YIKES! Angry

hi Rosie, nice to see you!
thanks for information about ipower, I wasn't aware they have problems of such kind.
As for registrars I keep using www.godaddy.com and www.joker.com but thinking about transferring them to our partner www.registerbird.com

Thanks for sharing your experience with Ipower. I was thinking of buying new domains from them as they are cheap But after your experience I think I am not going to register domains from them..... May be I will try www.globat.com

Sure Manu, I felt an obligation to post about this problem. They must have resolved their server isssue
now. I just checked and they do have a page with advertising of their choice where my site is suppose to be. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
I appreciate registerfly much more after this aand they are far from perfect too!

I am assuming that the dns info is still not processed and that is why IPOWER is still using my new site to advertise...
Thing is...
Why when the new site is called amatuermusicianexpo.com and I have the original 1st site with them also called amatuermusician.com with the title "Amatuer Musician Expo", is my site (the original one)not listed on the page for my new site where they are advertising related sites? Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

And this is the part that pees me off...

None of my websites have anything to do with s.e.x. or dating, so why are they using my biz name to advertise such things? Angry
I am already promoting amatuermusician.com, sending out link exchange requests to industry associated sites etc...
and I do not appreciate them doing this at all.

Here is the screenshot of my "new site" Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

That was on a few minutes ago...

Now there are some different links

I did hear back from them about an hour ago and they told me that amatuermusician.com was working fine! LOL! Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I did write back and tell them I knew that, but what about amatuermusicianexpo.com? I also mentioned the advertising

I don't want to talk to them for a while! LOL! They are making me dizzy! Grin Huh Roll Eyes Shocked

Apparently, the dns has resolved because a minute ago a got a screen from my dns server telling me I need to configure some things instead of that advertising page which I did. I then ran a check and Ipower was not responding ,but finally did and the dns server said the site was okay. I checked out the site again and the advertising was back up.

i just clicked the link and it was a plain black screen so it might be ok now?
or is it still the same for you ?
if your still getting the adverts/search page have you tried checking your registery for anything that might redirect you to that page as ive had things that done that to me before
