here is some insects I've catch with my camera.
Would appreciate any comments and constructive critisizm which maybe help me to make better photographs in future.

4 shots above were made on our garden(it's called dacha in Russian), it was warm autumn so there was a plenty of bees around but they were wasn't very active so I was able to use them as photo model for a while.

for a few days in the winter we got really sunny and warm days, so many insects like bees wake from the sleeping and try to find some place under sun on flowers, since there was not much them, some flowers had 2 or more bees per flower.

this one was taken during our camping on the seashore last year.

This poor butterfly appeared on our balcony one day, it was half alive and laying on the ground, so we take it to safer on the street where none could crash it with the foot.

these two pictures(not sure which one looks better) were made during my trip home, it was sitting on the flower near the very busy and dusty road.

not sure about the name of these insects, but last autumn they simply cover some plants.

I've just like the way how sun render it's body. So decide to catch this moment.

I don't like spiders but I don't think it's arachnophobia Smiley Anyway this one was sitting on the boat garage during walk trip along the shore last summer.

OH LOVELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and spiders too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I am not an insect fan myself when we are talking flys, mosquitos, cockroaches etc...but there are somw very beautiful ones! I love the spiders! If you can get past the fear of them and appreciate the beauty of them , that is a good thing. As a child, my favorite book was "Charlotte's Web" about a spider who was kind of the voice of the animal yard on a farm. The beautiful, intricate "lace" that some of them weave is highly evolved!I never ,ever kill them. I take them outside if they look particularly "questionable" or if I think they will not be able to escape notice from some frisky cats and a bug chasing DOG -THAT LITTLE STUPIDO ACTUALLY THINKS HE CAN CATCH A FLY! lol! Grin

Very nice photos, Denis! Grin

I'm not that fun of spiders as you, Rosie Smiley But I also try not to kill them, actually just as many people here(I think there some kind of belief that it's bad sign to kill a spider).
Thanks for compliments!

I think those red and black ones are beautiful, but the way they are all gathered on that plant looks like they might be plant eaters.

Do you guys have ladybugs? I thought those might be some sort of variety of a ladybug, but they just eat insects and not plants.

I don't like them either although they are pretty harmless IMHO, they are a bit bigger than ladybugs and can't fly IMHO.
BTW Doc, told that similar bugs could be found in US and called box elder beetles. Here is the same thread I've posted on other forum, Doc have promised to find out more info on them.

I am sat here listnening to the start of the "semi" season. These insects sound like electrical buzzers. So far they just started.. buzz...buzz etc. In Summer (the hot dry bit)  they are very loud and fly around between trees so I hope to hike up into the hills and film a short video clip of them so you get the full experience of a real big loud bug  Grin

I would argue with you here, you've made really great shots and just underestimate yourself!
BTW I've never seen such buterfly here as well, and bee looks a bit different on your shot from those which live in our area.
Great photos, Jeanne, I'm serious!

I heard something big land on the window frame today and managed to take some pics. It is called a semi here in Japan. I estimate this one was around 5cm (2") long. In the daytime they make a lot of buzzing noise. When I first came to Japan I thought the noise was from electrical equipment on telegraph poles  Grin
