You know what it's like working online as a webmaster or even a surfer.

It can become a nightmare to organise your online life. So how about hints and tips on this subject?

For example: how do you manage your weblinks, passwords etc.

I have my own systems but I am currently enjoying a BonJovi video so i am not in the mood for geeky stuf right now but this is a cool idea yeah  Grin - p.s. so few emoticons to choose from on this forum  Wink

Weblinks: I use bookmarks/favorites. I have them very well organized in folders. Each folder usually has several folders in it. ex: Shopping - Camera, Computer, Auto, Books, Auctions

Passwords: Unfortunately they are all in my head. I just don't trust the script kiddies out there. I don't write them anywhere.

Weblinks: Just like Heidi I had thm organized in categories and subcategories but can't say that I'm satisfied with this, I still planning to write some bookmark manager one day which let me organize things my way, but right now this project has very low priority.
Passwords: can't say that all my passowrds in the head, some which I can't remember I had written in encrypted form in hidden file somwhere in safe place Smiley

Passwords are becoming a nightmare, I must admit. Don't laugh, I still write them down in a book. Huh

For passwords, I write them down in a book too but I also use a very handy utility called "PasswordKeeper" which was a free download from the support site for MSI, the PC motherboard company.

Hi

getting organised can be a real hassle ...

I set my day in 4 hours lots ... the first four hours I stay focused on important taks and let nothing distract me from it..

After 4 hours the rest of the day is mine ....javascript:void(0);
Grin

After losing passwords and user names hundreds of times I now use a program called infokeeper ... It's fantastic

Yes, passwords and usernames are the biggest cause of stress for me. At least they were. Now I use auto-complete, always click remember me, write in my little secret book and use a password manager. Anything to save me from the stress of losing the infernal login details.

Stacey: I am suprised you can work in 4 hour slots. That is hard for me. You must get a lot of things done.

p.s. I have a big boost in productivity now since I stopped watching a lot of TV.

Setting small goals followed by small rewards may be a great way to work rather than by the clock. I was trying this out over the last few days and it seemed to work well. I needed to revise all I was supposed to have learnt in my language class over the last few months. The pace was so fast in the class I thought I learn't nothing. But by splitting the re-training into daily chunks. I whizzed through it to get to do some fun things like I'm doing now.

1.   DO NOT CHECK OUT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS FIRST.   THEY CAN TAKE 3 HOURS OFF THE TOP AND I GET NOTHING DONE.

2.   SKIM OVER EMAIL MESSAGES AND OPEN ONLY THOSE THAT ARE IMPORTANT OR PERSONAL.

3.    EAT AT THE COMPUTER SINCE OTHERWISE I FORGET I FIXED BREAKFAST/LUNCH/DINNER TWO HOURS AGO.

4.    DO NOT ANSWER TELEPHONE.

5.    HIDE ALL LIBRARY BOOKS

6.   OH NO... TIME TO GO TO WORK.

7.   SIGN OFF COMPUTER!   WHERE THE HECK DID THE TIME GO?    Huh
