I listened to the recorded version of an internet marketing call and the the hosts revealed how much they earn from the web.

The people were John Reese and a Dr Mike from Singapore who used to be involved in medicine.

The incomes revealed were ranging from $50,000 to $100,000 per month.

From what I gathered, the income is mostly coming from sales of marketing materials and training fees to people that subscribed to their lists.

Top of their recommendations was to ask visitors to your site to subscribe to your newsletter. The reasoning is that you can contact them again and build trust. And they will buy from you in the future. They actually used the phrase that "it's insane not to be building a list". Well it is so easy to build a list with the right tools these days. I have built many "lists" just by cutting and pasting a subscriber form to my site. It's really easy. One of my lists grew to 20,000 people over a few years. But check my resources link for the best way to do this now to comply with can-spam and get emails actually read.

The other thing they were keen on is Google Adsense. I agree with this as you will see from my other posts on monetization. eMail marketing is a great way. Getting a list of email addresses that you have collected from your site is essential. Don't buy the crap CDs out there. I have some sites that i am involved in that have over 100K names. People sign up for your lists if they feel they will get something out of it. If your site interests them, then they are going to want to get your emails.

Interesting point here... I was checking for Michael Cheney's Senior site and altho it no longer exists, the next day I received 6 emails from "him" with offers of training materials, etc. etc.    The only one I opened had a free training video with it.   I have not watched it yet, but expect I will just to see what he's putting out.

NOW HOW DID HE GET MY EMAIL ADDY?    I was just browsing.   The emails are currently in my 'suspicious' mail box.   At least they do have the option for me to stop them from coming.

Normally, you would only get emails like that off a high profile marketer if somebody enters your email into a subscription form. If somebody is out to discredit them then it's possible that a person may be harvesting emails to enter to the subscription form. I very much doubt people earning a living online in a high profile way would risk spamming.

There is no way to subscribe to a list while visiting a web site unless you clicked inside a text entry box (where your auto-complete feature of a browser may have filled in the form) and then you clicked a submit button. At least I am pretty sure this is the case.

Actually, all I did was a domain search for Seniority.com and Seniority UK.com and then did a browser search for Michael Cheney.    Got his training website and got off it.    Did not fill out any forms or anything.

Then again, one never knows.... mayhap a senior moment?

I know a very smart young guy from Hong Kong who is earning more than US$100k from google adsense, ypn(excluding all the affiliate marketing income) and I gathered that he has more than 8 accounts with google and yahoo to make that kind of monies though !

And this guy is really an SEO expert, especially on-page and off-page optimisation.(one way backlink)

Wanna know a secret to how to get 1000's of one way backlinks to your site and make alot of money from Adsense?

I still see this method being used on some web sites. The method is to offer a free stats counter that includes a small text link back to a page optimized for Adsense.

For example, you want to promote some Medical Drug keyword then you ad a tiny text link with this keyword above a bright colorful stat meter.

The site owners simply cut and paste the code without realizing they are linking to a page all about a medicine with a high PPC value.

The stat counter sounds very interesting, but you need to maket that also; how do you go about that?? SEO? that takes a long time you might aswell seo the page with the adds?

You get lots of 1-way inbound links which are more important than a single page. You can get top ranking for a page that doesn't even have the keyword on it as long as the key words are in the anchor text of the links.

btw. I'm not recommending this approach since it's unethical. I just saw it being done.

The big money to be made online is in training and tools for budding online marketers. Many people are addicted to training and learning about marketing. They spend all there spare cash on it and never have time to build their business because there is always so much to learn.
