Hello,
Yes, I looked at  this other article and found the competitiveness very interesting Cool regarding Yahoo.   As it said, Yahoo is adding some features and removing some graphic advertising to make its service look more like the clean, simple style of Google.  It already has a large selection of products from companies that pay to be included in its Yahoo Shopping section. But now, following Froogle's example, it will expand to include products of companies that are not its clients. Hopefully for Yahoo it will attain its goal and retain its former position! If it can........... Undecided

Well, the results you get is still exactly the same as google, so I don't see any reason using them.

actually I should agree that I didn't seen any difference but I've saw that people talking about some changes in Map search(I didn't try this feature before so cannot judge if it's better now or not) and also they put images feature... also I believe that this step was taken in order to implement somehow and somwhere results from Inktomi database as it Inktomi was bought by Yahoo recently and I'm sure they want to do something about it...

The image search seems to be taken directly from google as well. The map search looks good, but unfortunately, only a few countries are supported.

I thought they sort of are trying to look more like google, too - but it looked all right.  Better than some of those HUGE ads you have to look at when you log into your e-mail and such... Roll Eyes

This is slightly off-topic, but anyway...

You can get graphic ad-free e-mail services with fastmail.fm. I've been pleased with my services with them so far, and I've been using them for a year now.

Okay, now that I think about it, that was really off-topic. Oh well.
