hello design forum members:

  I tried to created navigation bar in fireworks by using button.

a) I first created a canvas then insert button images(in up, down, over state)

b) then I exported htm(Firworks HTML code) and image files(in gif fomat) into dreamwaver

c) I did some research online which says by using  dreamwaver template is convenient way to do navbars in case user want to apply same navigation bar on different page.

  my nav bar appearance is every messy:(, only original state of the button displayed, there many imported .gif files which made me confused. I include my code in htm file inported from fireworks. Could you take a look and help me trouble shoot what went wrong?

  d) I also want to know how to use template in dreamwaver correctly so I can make it smooth process to generate nav bars.
Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<!-- saved from url=(0014)about:internet -->

FW creates additional gifs for spacing. Some you may need, while others can be removed. Maybe you could display the page url of your design?

Dreamweaver has a navigation bar feature. It may be easier to first create your navigation images, then slice them up and then use the Dreamweaver navigation bar feature.

Hope this helps  Wink
