If ONLY There Is NO IF

WWW
« on: May 11, 2006, 01:57:10 PM »

Late last week, a post was sent to all JV partners
(contributors) that a malware known as Trojan Passview
had infected many members personal computer
causing an alarmed!

The owner of the Joint Venture program (name
kept confidential) said that he himself was left
unnotice. When one of the member who had
downloaded many of the software and ebook
give-aways, had detected 32 of the products in
the Joint Venture's give-aways that was launched
just before Easter.

"Earlier today, I informed that some contributors
had infected files with trojans. While this is beyond
my personal control (as the files were not on my
server) I felt it my duty to inform you as soon as
I found out.

If you participate as a contributor or a receiver
in any Giveaway event, I'd recommend that you
have personal virus and trojan protection." said the
JV owner.

"Just a head up to let you know that
"Trojan Passview" has been detected
in 32 of the products in your JV giveaways.
It appears that only Ewido 3.5 currently
detects it." said one of his member.

Details on the Trojan can be found by
searching "Trojan Passview" in Google.

"I am currently working with Spyware
Warrior http://spywarewarrior.com to try
to rid my computer and files from this
and other viruses, and this Trojan has
been detected in over 200 popular products
I have downloaded from recent and past
giveaway." added the JV owner.

Base on his detection, here are Infected
files that I've been notified of (there might
be others so please check yourself) :

- SecretEbayMarketing.zip
- JimWilsonEbaySecrets.zip
- AuctionSourcesExposed.zip
- PowerSeller.zip
- 126LouisAllportBundle.zip
- EbayMoneyMachine.zip
- Holiday Planner.zip
- easy_pdf_toolkit.zip
- embarrassingly_simple_way to No1 in Google.zip
- html_fast_track.zip
- jw_ebay_secrets.zip
- secret_ebay_marketing.zip
- vend_o_matic.zip

Please take the necessary action to
check your own hard drives so that the
trojans don't spread.

To do this, use Ewido 3.5 or higher
(Ewido 3.5 14 days free trial is now
available) dowloadable from its own
website at, http://www.marzlist.com/Ewido.html

After you've downloaded the free trial,
scan all your files in your hard drives
and the software can delete the said
malware.

From your server which is hosting your
website (if you've one), inform the support
about the possibility that your server could
be under attacked by the Trojan Passview
malware and to get your server scan so as
to not to cause any further spread or damage
to your business.

If you intend to upload all future files, use
Ewido 3.5 or higher to scan the respective
files before uploading using FTP.

The earlier measure however can only help
to protect your personal computer or laptop,
but may not be able to protect your downloadable
files while online as the spread of such malware
(Trojan Passview) can be transmitted online
while in the process of any downloading.

It is advice that you've your own 'shield' like
Spyware Doctor http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor
to inform you of any malicious activities.

Another 'hard-core' malware, browser hijacker -
Clear Search is hijacking many internet users
browsers. Ewido 3.5 has the mean to eliminate
this problem.

I hope you find this information useful and
be carefull. To deter is better than to clear.
