My site went down for a few days so apologies for this. Now it is back up (after I re-registered my domain name  Embarrassed ) with more content but I have a backlog of great stuff to post such as the Bamboo Barbeque Party where we harvested roots to eat and made cups and bowls from bamboo. I hope to post pics and commentry on this soon, so please stay tuned...

It is amazing to see such thick bamboo being cooked. What does it taste like?

Sorry, the tube of bamboo was made into a kind of oven and filled with rice. We only eat the freshly growing roots. They taste a bit like sweed (between potato and onion). We had it boiled with soup, raw and deep fried. I didn't try it raw though.

I plan to create a video clip about how to harvest bamboo shoots. Standby...

Wow, so they use the big bamboo as a cooking device. That is neat. We don't have bamboo that is allowed to grow that big, so I had never heard of anything like that.
